The single-storey building, has a main art room, art therapy room and teachers’ preparation room, paint and materials store. It is equipped for drawing, painting and three-dimensional artwork. The cantilevered roof provides cover for outside play and work and being detached from the main school, the studio is a calm oasis away from the bustle of the main block.

Natural ground source heating; tapping into the earth’s energy to provide heating and hot water to the studio.

Roof covered by an Alpine plant called sedum, which provides insulation, soaks up water and keeps the building cool in the summer. It also provides a habitat for insects and birds.

Four clear domes in the roof and large sliding sliding doors let in plenty of light and fresh air.
