Refurbishment of a 10,000 Grade II house in Marylebone to provide a private residence. The building had previously been converted from offices but extensive structural problems had appeared which required urgent attention.

The client brief was to produce a contemporary family home that respected atmosphere of the original building. Services were to be efficient and discrete with invisible climate control and underfloor heating.

Classical featuers were retained and restored on the upper floors while the ground floor was reorganised into a large kitchen/dining room with attached playroom and roof terrace. The basement was converted into a modern space with a large gym and staff areas.

The project took 22 months including construction work of 18 months. The building was completed in May 2004.
